Luminant is a part of a broad coalition of parties that are challenging the legality of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Final Rule regulating carbon dioxide (CO2), the “Clean Power Plan”. This coalition includes other generators, a bipartisan group of 25 State governments, broader business groups representing consumers of power, mining interests, and certain labor groups, among many others. We share a common concern for balancing the need for reliable, affordable, and environmentally sound electricity supplies. The linked document provides the company’s rationale for supporting these efforts to “stay” the implementation of the rule and allow legal challenges to be resolved before costly impacts of a rule are realized.
