On Thursday, May 30, Vistra announced its intention to add up to 2,000 MW of dispatchable, natural-gas-fueled electric generation capacity in West, Central and North Texas. The announcement included 860 MW of new gas plants, repowering a retiring coal into gas enabling up to 600 MW, and 500MW of summer capacity upgrades to existing gas plants.
